Citation Style Guides

When writing a research paper, you will need to cite your sources. This can be done in a number of styles. At BPC, professors use either MLA, APA, Turabian, or AMA. The chosen style usually depends on the subject area. For example, Education usually uses APA, while English uses MLA.

Each style has its own manual that contains everything you will need to cite correctly. The library has a copy of each in its reserve holdings.

For basic and quick reference, you will find guides for all four styles* here:

More help can be found on the internet.

See the reference librarian if you have questions.

*If you come across any errors in the guides, please notify the reference librarian. Thanks!
