Mary Louise (Durrette) Hulsey, 1944:  Mary is a young-at-heart member who has sung in the First Baptist Gainesville's choir for 62 years.  In addition to singing in the choir, for 29 years, she coordinated FBC's children's choirs, was a member and active participant of the Gainesville Georgia Chorale for 20 years, and their pianist for about 37 years.  She says that she can't ever remember a time when she didn't sing...even as a very small child.  Also, Mary and her husband John Burl Hulsey Sr., (1944) are looking forward to another celebration soon.  In May, 2008, the couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.  The couple has 5 children: Carolyn (deceased), John Jr., David, Beth and Wes, 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Joan (Phillips) Horne, 1952: Joan is currently teaching a senior citizen computer course at Halifax Community College in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She is entering her 51st year of teaching.

J. Cecil Nobles, 1955:  Cecil was among several announced by Governor Sonny Perdue in December, 2007 to an Executive Appointment.  He was reappointed to the position of Ludowici, At-Large Representative.  Cecil currently is the Sheriff of Long County, Georgia and is a member of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association and Director of the Glennville-Ludowici Bank. He and his wife, Peggy, have three children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Benny Olliff, 1961:  Benny has been a staff chaplain at South Georgia Medical Center for just over 21 years (since October 1986).  In that time he has seen the best and the worst of humanity, but always found a way to show love to total strangers in life's most difficult situations.  "To be able to be sincerely compassionate towards total strangers is an gift from God."

Bernita (Wynn) Plowden, 1963: Bernita loves BPC and misses all of the faculty and friends that she acquired while attending. Currently she is pursuing a BSN degree in nursing.

Raymond Nelson Jr., 1968: Raymond is retired from the USPS and lives in Haines City, Fla.

Wade Johnson, 1968:  Wade, who currently raises cattle in the Chennault area of Lincoln County, has announced his candidacy for chairman of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.  He and his wife Beverly have three children and grandchildren.

Linda Gale Jones, 1970: Linda retired in 2007 from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, GA where she taught English for 30 years. She now serves as a regular and long-term substitute at Bradwell Institute because she loves to interact with students and friends. She lives in Reidsville, GA.

William (Bill) Lockridge, 1971:  Bill was honored in April 2008 prior to the conference doubleheader (which marked the beginning of his 25th year of coaching) at Gadsden State Community College in Gasden, Alabama.  He is the dean of Alabama Community College baseball coaches and has been head coach at Gadsden State since 1983


Hayward Altman, 1972:  Hayward, Former Senior Assistant District Attorney, has announced his election to the office of District Attorney of the Middle Judicial Circuit.  He has been an Assistant District Attorney for the past twenty years.  Also, he and his wife Kathy welcomed their first Grandchild, Mack Altman into the world in June . 


Janice (Drawdy) Gendreau, 1975:  Janice was recently named Advertising Sales Director for Play Tennis Florida Magazine in Jacksonville, FL. 

Erika (Alcorn) Parks, 1975:  Erika is a veteran of 20 years of Baptist mission service in Southeast Asia, and became a missionary of Mission to Unreached Peoples (MUP), November, 2007.  Her husband Dr. S. Kent Parks, also a 20-year veteran of Baptist missions, will become the interdenominational agency's international director.  Erika and Kent will establish the international office initially in Dallas, Texas, and will work in close relationship with the other two offices in Seattle, WA and Abbotsford, BC.  They have two daughters who are in college, Katy and Lindsay.

Charmane (Miller) Toliver, 1979:  Charmane and her husband David celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on January 29, 2008. They have two children, Dave, 24; and Hillary, 20. They attend Agape Christian Fellowship, where David and Charmane have both served for 20 years, him as an Elder, and her as a pianist.  Charmane is currently employed as Secretary at Camden Middle School in Kingsland, Ga., while her husband David is employed at the Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, FL., as boiler room operator.

Ellen (Puiszis) Branch, 1980:  Ellen has been married for almost 25 years with two daughters (ages 20 & 16) and is a registered nurse.

Logan, 1980 & Miriam (Barnard) Porter, 1988:  Logan and Miriam are proud to announce the birth of a son, William Logan (Liam), born on June 24, 2007.  He joins big sister Elizabeth who is 9 years old. 

Robbie Lynn Ray, 1981:  Robbie is a School Improvement Specialist with an emphasis in Mathematics K-12 at Oconee RESA in Tennille, Ga.  She works with schools in Baldwin, Hancock, Jasper, Johnson, Putnam, Washington, and Wilkinson Counties.

Allyson ('Bird') X. Gaines-Ross, 1981: Allyson is an IT Specialist with the federal government.

Teresa Thigpen, 1982:  Teresa has been employed with Pineland for the past 13 years as a Social Service Tech. III.  She has two twin nephews, age 11 that help keep her busy.  She enjoys traveling when she can and would love to hear from former Alumni.

Beverly Stinson Faircloth, 1982: Beverly recently earned her doctorate in teacher leadership through Walden University. She is employed by Liberty County Schools as a special educator. Beverly and Rick are the proud parents of Lauren and Derek. Both are now students at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN.

Margaret (Holland) Keck, 1984:  Margaret recently accepted the position of Executive Director of First Call Pregnancy Center in Greensboro, GA. Their client base went from seeing approximately 20 women in July to 77 women during the month of October. They are working with women ages 14 to 39 years at the present, which are in crisis pregnancy situations for many different reasons. They are totally non-profit and are affiliated with CareNet. She asks that everyone please pray for this ministry as they watch God doing a powerful work to help women make the choice of "LIFE" and supporting them through the pregnancy and the birth of their children.

Dan Eidson, 1985:  Dan and his wife Frances, now reside in Tifton where Dan serves as pastor of Victory Baptist Church and Frances is a high school math teacher.  They have two grown children and three "wonderful" grandchildren (Troy Smith, Grace Smith, and Alli Eidson).

Tammy (Baker) Holton, 1985:  Tammy is married to a wonderful man and has four children, two boys and two girls, two dogs and one cat. She is a Special Education Teacher at Mitchell County Primary School. Her oldest son is sophomore in college majoring in law.  Her next son is a senior and plans to attend UGA.   Her little girls are in 1st grade and Pre-K.

David B. Jordan, 1985:  David is director of the Penfield Christian Home North.  He pastors a church and directs this ministry on the site of the original Mercer College in LaFayette, GA.

Harry "Bucky" Kennedy, 1985:  Bucky, who serves as pastor of First Baptist Church in Vidalia, was elected president of the Georgia Baptist Convention in November, 2007.  He, his wife Stacey, daughter, Hannah, 16 and son, Ivey, 12, were introduced to the attendees at the Georgia Baptist Convention meeting, which was held in Augusta, Georgia.

Tim Montgomery, 1985:  Tim serves as an Assistant Principal for the Washington County Board of Education.

David Rahn, 1985:  David and his wife Kim are proud to announce the birth of their son, Maxwell (Max) Isaiah Rahn born May 6, 2008 at 8:41 am.  Max weighed 7lbs., 11oz., and was 19" long.  The proud grandparents are Rev. Al Rahn (1960) and Jane Rahn. 

John Waters, 1985:  John currently serves at First Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia and has recently had the opportunity to participate in a revival at Union Baptist Church and minister not only to his congregation, but to young and upcoming pastors as well.  To view more stories and see the work that John is doing, click here.  John and his wife Cynthia Hendricks Waters (1982) live happily in Statesboro with their two daughters Trisha and Bethany. 

Vicki (Parker) Wilson, 1985: Kayla Faye Wilson, daughter of Vicki P. Wilson of Blackshear and David Wilson of Sylvania will graduate from Pierce County High School May 23, 2008.


Rick Johnson, 1986:  Rick has been in education 25 years and lives in Atlanta working as a Head of School at a Christian school. He has been married 28 years and has four children; two boys and two girls.
He received his PhD in Counseling and Christian Education.  He is also a lead pastor at a non-denominational church.  He has worked in 9 countries with several orphanages and has 19 countries that attend his school.  His vision is global and his calling is to equip the world with future leaders for the Lord.

Clarke W. Johnson, 1986: Clarke was employed by Southern Nuclear, he retired after 32 years of service in June of 2013. His degree is in Nuclear Engineering Technology and a B.A. in History. He is happily married to Treva L. Johnson.


Charles S. Freeman, 1988:  Charles is Assistant Professor of Musicology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, moving from a similar position at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL.  He and his wife Julia now reside in Lawrence.


William Beaver, 1989:  William, now in his sixth year at Haddock Baptist as Associate Pastor of Education and Family Ministry, served as Camp Pastor for one week at RA Camp Kaleo. In July 2007 he joined with a sister church in conducting a discipleship "Superhero Camp" for kids at Brewton-Parker College and is making plans to return in 2009 with a discipleship "Kids College." Michael A. Kelly, 1989:  Michael is currently serving in Afganistan as a U.S. Army Chaplain (CFT).

Rodney Stewart-Wilcox, 1989:  Rodney works full time for and serves as a Pastor-Elder at New Horizons Church in Lexington, KY.  He and his wife, Ronda, have two children Micah and Anna.  Rodney previously served as Pastor at 19th Avenue Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA. 

Trey Turner, 1989: Trey is a Sergeant with the Ball Ground Police Department. He and his wife Dione have three children: Brandon (16), Cheyenne (11) and my little man is Taylor (8).  His wife is a deputy with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. So we are a law enforcement family through and through.

Kathy (Morton) Lander, 1990: Kathy received her Master's of Business Administration from Ohio State University in 1992. She now works at the comptroller at the Ford Motor Company Wayne Assembly Plant in Michgan.

Chandler Newell, 1990:  Chandler received his Doctor of Education degree in Adult Education from the University of Georgia during spring semester commencement ceremonies on May 12, 2007.   He is the Director of Multimedia Services at East Central Technical College. Chandler also serves as an adjunct instructor and advisory committee member for the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University,  where he teaches graduate courses in electronic courseware design, instructional systems design, and program planning.  He is the proud owner of Newell Media, a web and graphic design company in Douglas, Georgia.

Claire Samantha Mosely Williams, 1990, 2000: Claire is working with the Columbus Health District and is married to Donald K. Williams, who works with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. They live in Ellaville, GA.

Michael Petty, 1991:  Michael was named the new Director of Missions of Gulf Stream Baptist Association during their annual October meeting at First Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  He previously served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Marianna, and of churches in Georgia and Louisiana.  Michael began his service in this position as of October 23, 2007.  He and his wife Sue have two adult children.

Allen "Randy" Niswonger, 1992: Randy has taken a position as Pastor at Milan Baptist Church in Milan, GA. as of July 17, 2007.

Jackie (Snell) White, 1992: Jackie was recently promoted to the position of Director of Financial Aid at Brewton-Parker College.

Terry H. Hudson, 1993: Terry is currently teaching language arts and social studies at Dublin Middle School. She has taught for a total of 14 years.

Bryn Warner, 1993:  Bryn just moved back to the Tampa Bay area to work with The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.  He is the Director of Annual Support for the Foundation.

Mathew C. Kuruvilla, 1994: Mathew established Hope & Help for the Unseen Victims program through MercyHeart Clubs, which works with Covenant Fellowship International Ministries in India.  He has built a successful career as an Assistant Manager for Radio Shack Corporation and has worked as a consultant for Cormark International, Fort Worth, Texas.  Pastor Kuruvilla was in the Indian Civil Service of the Cabinet Secretariat for 12 years in New Dehli, India.  Look for his work on the web at

Shannon (Miller) Lee, 1994:  Shannon and her husband David are proud to announce the birth of their son, Adrian Maurice Lee born July 30th 2007.  Adrian joins proud big sister Alexandria.  Shannon is the Systems Technician at Oxford Distribution Center.

Niki (Weide) McLeroy, 1994:  Niki and her husband Lee are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Hannah Lee McLeroy born May 29, 2008 at 7:49 a.m.  She weighed 8lbs. 1oz and was 21 inches long.  The proud Grandparents are Marcus and Liz McLeroy and Ric and Joy Weide.

Angela (Stanley) Perry, 1994:  Angela married Andre`Perry of Savannah, February 9, 2008.  The couple now lives in Savannah and operates the Angela D. Stanley Ministry.  For more information concerning their ministry, click here.

James Dewberry, 1995: James operates a website business called Savannah Digital Communications. He helped to launch the BPC website in 1997. For more information, see his website.

Rodney D. Jones, 1995: Rodney currently serves as a counselor at the Atlanta City Detention Center.

Lynda (Snyder) Price, 1995:  Lynda, on December 13, 2006, received her National Board Certification in Teaching, and was awarded Teacher of the Year, 2006/2007.

Alissa (Carter) Thomas, 1995:  Alissa was recently chosen from over 3,000 teachers in 54 different schools for Harford County Teacher of the Year in Harford, Maryland.  Alissa is an extremely talented teacher who dedicated herself to understanding/analyzing the key components of great instruction with a focus on student learning.

Samantha (Cain) Abell, 1996 and Levi Abell, 1998: Samantha and Levi recently celebrated their 9 year anniversary. She and Levi met in old testament class. Years later after they graduated, Dr. Doug Weaver married them in the little white chapel. They still keep in contact with many of their friends from their time here at Brewton-Parker College.

Lisa O. (Horne) Kitchens, 1996:  Lisa works for the Macon Water Authority and is married to David E. Kitchens.

Pamela (Gullion) McBee, 1996 & 2000:  Pamela recently was awarded the position of Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School in Edwardsville Illinois for the 2008-09 school year, as well as receiving the distinguished educator award for the district. Their son, Tyler will also be attending this middle school as a 6th grader - who is excelling in academics, athletics, and the fine arts.

Jenny Lord Mosley, 1996: Jenny Lord Mosley and her husband, Chad, would like to announce the birth of their son, Joshua. He was born on November 18, 2008, and welcomed home by his big sister, Madison.

Kenny (1996) and Misty (Polk) Peters, 1997: Kenny and Misty are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Aidan Walker Peters.  Walker was born on Nov. 28, 2007.  His proud big sister Alannah is already spoiling him.  Kenny is the Associate Pastor of Music & Worship at Green Acres Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA and serves on the GBC Advisory Committee for BPC.  Kenny will graduate from Luther Rice Seminary in May '08 with a Masters of Biblical Counseling.  Misty is the Music teacher for Central Baptist Church Preschool in Warner Robins.

Bernice (Owens) Reaves, 1996: Bernice is a Supervising Senior Accountant/Auditor with Nichols, Cauley and Associates, LLC, and presently serves as officer and chairperson of several professional and civic organizations.


Kristy (Lung) Shirley, 1996:  Kristy just celebrated 13 years of wedded bliss to Brian Shirley at the beginning of June 2008. They have a daughter, Isabel Leeann, who is almost 10 years old. Brian is still in the US Army and will retire in 4 years. Kristy is working for a local psychologist as the Office Manager and loves it.


Kimberly Dudley, 1997:  Kimberly is beginning her 10th year as an educator.  The last three years of her career have been spent in the Wayne County school system.  She also is currently serving as President of the GFWC/GaFWC Altamaha Women's Club. 


Joseph (1998) and Doris (Hill) Brock, 1997:  Joseph and Doris recently celebrated 11 years of marriage the middle of June 2008.  They have two children, Sarah (10) and Timothy (8).  Joseph was recently called to pastor Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Reidsville and teach at Appling Christian Academy.  Doris is currently taking classes at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia, working towards an LPN. 

Mildred Holder Price (1997) and husband Jimmy Allen Price (1996) both work for the Toombs County Board of Education. They have two children. Maddie is 8 years old and Erin is 4. Millie is a member of the National Alumni Board and hosts our yearly Ms. Brewton-Parker College Pageant on campus.

Jeremy Beall, Class of 1998: Jeremy was hired in October 2008 by the Bank of Dudley, Dublin, GA, as Network Administrator. Coming to the bank with over 10 years of experience in information technology, network design, hardware/software installations and network management, Jeremy was later promoted to Assistant Operations Officer in January 2009.  He and his wife, Natalie (1996), and their two sons, Griffin and Collin, reside in Soperton.

Paige (Goodman) Coker, 1998:  Paige has accepted a new position as an Instructional Technology Coach for three elementary schools in the Ware County School System. She will be responsible for providing staff development opportunities and helping teachers integrate 21st century technology into the curriculum. Paige and her husband Mark reside in Waycross, GA and are the parents of Drew, age 6, and Ally, age 3.

Gene Whitley, 1998: Gene served in several churches in Louisiana and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Dec. 2007.  Now he has moved to Homerville where he is awaiting his acceptance into the Army as a Chaplain. Training will start in Sept. 2008. Gene has been married 3 years to Pilar and they have one son, Carlos Joel "CJ" who is now two.

Kerry Crews Wicker, 1998: Kerry and her husband Thomas Wicker announce the birth of Mylee Grace Wicker, July 7, 2008. She was welcomed by her sister Maggie Elisabeth Wicker.

Molly Williams, 1998: Molly has been singing Christian music around the world with a group in Charlotte, N.C.  since graduating from BPC.  Since March she has been traveling and singing back-up with Wynona Judd.  She will soon be cutting her second CD.

DeShanna Brown, 1998: DeShanna has accepted the Director of Development for the Vice President for Student Life & Enrollment at Louisiana State University.

Jeff Dickerson, 1998: Jeff was named one of the top 100 criminal trial lawyers in Georgia by the National Trial Lawyers. His firm The Dickerson Firm also opened two new locations in East Cobb and Brookhaven.

Joseph "Joey" Collis, 1999:  Joey recently accepted his first head coaching job in Manatee County at Palmetto.  He currently teaches physical education at the Sarasota Military Academy and lives in Parrish.

Eric Richardson, 1999:  Eric was recently honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Athletic Training for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in all aspects of athletic training.  He has more than six years of professional experience in athletic training and has been an athletic trainer for the New Orleans Saints for two years.  Also, Eric is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Georgia Athletic Trainers Association and the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association.

Susan (Warren) Thornton, 1999:  Susan was named Dublin city schools Teacher of the Year, November 15, 2006.  She chairs the Dublin Social Studies department and has a "Knack for helping to make it easier for her students to grasp information and learn."

Jason Edenfield, 2000:  Jason and former Brewton-Parker student, Amber Skye Kicklighter were married Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Guido Gardens in Metter, Georgia.  He also is a May 2008 candidate for graduation to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from The University of Georgia. 

Kristopher, 2000 and Kathryn (Martin) Fletcher, 2001:  Kristopher and Kathryn are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, a son, Konrad Michael Fletcher born January 19, 2008.  Kristopher is currently employed with the GA Department of Corrections and Kathryn is employed as a CPA at Draffin & Tucker, LLP in Albany, GA. 

Steven Igarashi, 2000: Steven is proud of the work that he continues to do with the Atlanta Cotillion - a fundraising effort for AID Atlanta. Ending Steven's second year with the group, the Atlanta Cotillion raised $104,000 - all of which benefits AID Atlanta. Steven is proud to contribute his time to such a worthy cause.


Jodi (Haltiwanger) Kelley, 2000: Jodi recently completed The National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The 26.2 mile run was her first full marathon. She is currently training for a Triathlon to be completed in the summer that will benefit individuals with Leukemia and Lymphoma.  Jodi and her husband Seth (2000), reside in Jacksonville, Florida.

Michelle Samuel (now Samuel-Foo), 2000: Michelle recently earned her doctorate of philosophy in entomology from the University of Georgia (12/2008). She has since accepted a position with the University of Florida where she serves as the Southern Regional Field Coordinator for the IR-4 minor pesticide use program. She is married to Cornell Foo (2000), and the BPC alums have 2 boys Yohan 6 and Oliver 2.

Rebecca (Moore) Williams, 2000: Rebecca and her husband Jason would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Anna Kate Williams.  She was born on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 2:41 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs and 4 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long.  Rebecca is now a stay-at-home-mom and having a wonderful time with Anna.  Anna is Rebecca and Jason's first child and they love being parents!

Mark, 2001 and Laura (Jones) Acree, 2000: Mark Acree and Laura Jones were married on July 15, 2006. Mark works with students who are visually impaired and have multiple disabilities at the Georgia Academy for the Blind. Mark was recently accepted and is now a current student at Luther Rice Seminary working on a Master of Divinity degree. Laura works as a file clerk at Associates of Ophthalmology.  Both Mark and Laura are very active at their church, Lizella Baptist Church. Laura is in the Choir and on the missions committee as well as a volunteer for the youth ministry. Mark participates with church Basketball, Softball and helps with the youth ministry as well as aid in teaching and visitation for the Young married Sunday School class. They reside in Macon with their 3 dogs Molly, Houdini, and Shadow.

Clark Dailey, 2001: Clark and his wife Susan are awaiting the birth of their first child, due in August 2008.

Cornell Foo, 2000: Cornell completed his MS in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia in Dec 2008 also and was recently accepted into the sports management doctoral program at the University of Florida. He is married to Michelle Samuel-Foo (2000), and the BPC alums have 2 boys Yohan 6 and Oliver 2.

Rajyeshwari Ghosh, 2001:  Rajyeshwari writes as a freelance writer from her home in New Jersey.  Her recent article about her education at BPC was published in one of the leading newspapers in India, The Times of India Group.  She is employed as a Technology/Management Consultant with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), previously working on Wall Street as a business analyst with NYSE Regulation Division.

Emily (Reems) Meadows, 2001:  Emily graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in May 2006.  She is currently serving as Children's Minister at First Baptist Church of Barnesville, GA.  She recently got married to Patrick Meadows of Senoia, GA. on November 4, 2006.  They are expecting their first born son, in late September.

Jose Caraballo, 2002:  Jose recently accepted the position of Head Men's Soccer Coach for the Barons at Brewton-Parker College.

James Earnest "Ernie" Cowart, 2002: Ernie was recently hired at the Assistant Director of the Veterans Cemetery in Glennville, GA.

Nathan Finn, 2002:  Nathan just recently wrote an interesting article on the original "Articles of Faith" of the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Laurens County, Georgia.  To read more concerning this interesting subject and see what he concluded, click here.

Regina Wood, 2002:  Regina is currently the Instructor of Learning Assistance at Brewton-Parker College.

David Akin, 2003: David currently lives in Athens and is employed at UGA in the Athletic Department.


Chris, 2003 & Mary (Wilson) Brown, 2006:  Chris works at Books-A-Million in Savannah, GA. as a Receiving Specialist.  Mary is presently teaching at Liberty Elementary School in Midway, GA.  They are expecting a baby girl in June. 

Julie (Thompson) Klausman, 2003:  Julie was hired by LandDesign, an urban planning, civil engineering and landscape architecture company, as a project assistant in Charlotte, NC.  Her husband, David, also works for LandDesign as a civil engineer.  The couple has an infant son, named Matthew.  They live in Charlotte.

Rachel (Hendrix) Nobles, 2003:  Rachel got married in April of 2006. She is currently working on her doctorate in educational administration at Georgia Southern University.  She was just selected as Bradwell Institute's Teacher of the Year.

Jason Teal, 2003:  Jason is currently living in Claxton, GA.  On July 17, 2006, he was called at Eastside Baptist Church to serve fulltime as the Associate Pastor of Worship/Student Ministries.  He is also currently working on completing his Master of Divinity in Christian Education through the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Chris Summerlin, 2003: Dr. Chris Summerlin was recognized with the Ruth Ann Howard Service award from the Kentucky Association of Housing Officers, awarded for outstanding service to KAHO and their institutions in 2012. Service to the KAHO includes but is not limited to: service on the Governing Council, serving on the Host committee of a KAHO sponsored conference, publishing in the SEAHO Report, performance which has merited other awards in the state previously. Chris won the Young Alumni Award from Brewton-Parker College in 2013 during our Annual Alumni Weekend.

Kristi (Morris) Banks, 2004: Kristi married Jonathan Banks on April 21, 2007. She is a Pre-K assistant teacher and lives with Jonathan in Bethlehem, Georgia.

Leslie (McDaniel) Bratton, 2004:  Leslie recently accepted the position of Financial Aid Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Norma Joan Howell, 2004:  Joan has been with Brewton Parker since September 2004. She was recently promoted to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid in June 2007.

Derek Herlocker (2005) is the youth pastor at FBC Broxton and has been for 4 years. He and his wife Stephanie Smith Herlocker (2007) have a beautiful little girl, Breana, who was born on September 2, 2008.  Stephanie is a kindergarten teacher at Satilla Elementary.

Katherine Howison, 2005:  Katherine and her husband Dan proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Piper Rose Howison born May, 2007.  Dan, a graduate of Warrant Officer School, is currently serving our country, but was able to be at home with Katherine and their son Jeffrey during the birth of their daughter. 

Jessica James, 2004: Jessica recently accepted the position of Director of Annual Fund at Brewton-Parker College.

Sarah Jones, 2005: Sarah recently accepted the position of Financial Aid Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Shannon (Jones) Komm, 2004: Shannon and her husband Daniel would like to announce the birth of their son, Asher Jaden Komm. He was born on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 9:32 a.m. and weighed 6 lbs and 15 oz. and was 20 3/4 inches long. Asher Jaden is Shannon and Daniel's first child. They live in Lyons, GA and are members at FBC of Vidalia.

Ryan Parry, 2005:  Ryan is doing well, enjoying life at home in Australia while selling fitness equipment and playing basketball in a state league.   He also is looking into furthering his studies in Business management majoring in property development in Australia.

Ruby Ricks, 2005: Ruby was named Teacher of the Year for Reidsville Elementary School where she teachers 1st Grade.

Justin Bess, 2006:  Justin is currently working at Ballys Total Fitness as a Personal Trainer in Miami, FL.

Theresa (Beverly) Chafin, 2006:  Theresa married former Brewton-Parker student Samuel Chafin on August 4, 2007, at 3pm, in Jackson, Georgia.  Dr. Armenio Suzano was the officiator.  Dr. Suzano had both students in his Wind Ensemble while they were at BPC, and has kept in contact with them.  Theresa, after graduating in the Spring 2006, headed to Evanston, IL, where she pursued her Masters degree from Northwestern University, the school where Dr. Suzano himself pursued his Masters degree.  The new couple will establish their residence in Griffin, GA, hometown of the bride.

Madison, (2006) and Lyndsay (Gomme) Herrin, 2004:  Madison is currently the head baseball coach at Montgomery County High School.  He and his wife Lyndsay are the proud parents of a baby boy.  Madison, in his first year as Head Coach for Montgomery County High School Eagles Baseball with Assistant Coach, Billy Tucker (1994), led the team to State Playoffs and a season record of 18-6. 

Heather (Purvis) McGraw, 2006:  Heather is enjoying married life and the wonders of technology. She is currently living in Alabama due to her husband being stationed at Ft. Rucker, while working for the Hunter MacLean law firm in Savannah, Georgia. She works remotely from home, using the computer to connect to the Savannah network and handle any technical problems that may arise. They are looking forward to a move to Texas in July where Rob will be attending the Sergeants Major Academy.

William S. (2006) and Nora L. (Wilson) Welborn, 2006: William is a receptionist and database coordinator and Nora is a school teacher in Raleigh, NC.

Heather A. (Davis) Wooten, 2006:  Heather's husband, Darren, has just completed Medical School at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.  They will continue to live in Augusta for 3 years while her husband completes his residency.  He is specializing in Emergency Medicine.  At the end of his residency, they plan to move back to South Georgia and build a home. 

Shannon C. Baldwin, 2007:  Shannon began teaching 8th grade Georgia History in January 2007 at Cedartown Middle School in Polk County, GA.

Joshua Blohm, 2007:  Joshua is living back in Augusta for now, working in the ER at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. It is very exciting and fast paced. Not where he saw himself after leaving Brewton-Parker College, but he is very glad God has given him the opportunity to explore new horizons.

Jessica Broughton, 2007: Jessica was recently promoted to the position of Director of Student Development and Leadership at Brewton-Parker College.

Candice Close, 2007:  Candice recently accepted the position of Assistant Basketball Coach for the Lady Barons at Brewton-Parker College.

Tabitha Connell, 2007:  Tabitha was recently promoted to the position of Cashier at Brewton-Parker College.

Greg Coursey, 2007:  Greg recently accepted the position of Admissions Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Joey Drew, 2007:  Joey married the former Ashley New.  The couple is now living in Cleveland, Georgia where Joey works for the Dawson County Sheriff Department. The couple is the proud parents of a beautiful little boy.

Stephanie Smith Herlocker (2007) is a kindergarten teacher at Satilla Elementary.  She and her husband Derek Herlocker (2005) have a beautiful little girl, Breana, who was born on September 2, 2008.  Derek is the youth pastor at FBC Broxton and has been for 4 years.

Joshua Hitchcock, 2007:  Joshua is currently studying for the pastoral ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Davin Miller, 2007: Davin is currently working in the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development at Georgia Southern University. He is managing one of their new databases, and will eventually be in charge of their web team. Davin will begin the Master's of Business Administration at GSU in Spring 2007.  

Amber Mize, 2007: Amber Mize graduated from Valdosta State University (VSU) with a Master's Degree in Social Workin May 2009. Shortly after graduation from VSU she became a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She is now working at SouthernCare Hospice in Vidalia, GA as a Social Worker.

Stephen Nichols, 2007:  Stephen recently accepted the position of Collection Development Coordinator in the Fountain-New Library at Brewton-Parker College.

Lindsey (Herndon) Peeler, 2007:  Lindsey recently accepted the position of Financial Aid Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Michael Price, 2007:  Michael recently accepted the position of Admissions Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Eddie Taylor, 2007:  Eddie is a Manufacturing Engineer for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia.

Mark Caruso, 2008: Mark recently accepted the position of Admissions Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Michael Crosby, 2008: Michael recently accepted the position of Admissions Counselor at Brewton-Parker College.

Timothy Hegerich, 2008:  Timothy was recently asked to help moderate on the Christian website,

Courtney Payne, 2008: Courtney has begun Graduate school at Texas A&M and is enrolled in the Masters of Urban Planning program. Her classes consist of only about 20 students where half are from America and the other half are from Taiwan, China, India or Germany, which makes it especially interesting. In addition to her work in the classroom, Courtney is also working as a teaching/research assistant for her department. The FEMA funded project that she and an environmental planning professor at the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center at A&M are currently working on is one that deals with 2-1-1 (the information phone number which will code data that was received from hurricanes Katrina and Rita). This center is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and possibly one of few world-wide. Courtney gives praise to Brewton-Parker College and its faculty, especially that of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division. She says that "the political science classes are proving to be very beneficial in having an understanding of the government system itself and of basic policy."

Ashley Byrd Toro, 2009: Ashley graduated from BPC May 9, 2009 and married Bernd Torro (2009) on May 24, 2009 in Tybee Island, GA. They now reside in Savannah, GA an are both still looking for careers. Bernd is temporarily a lifeguard for Tybee Island.

Clarke W. Johnson, 2012: Clarke was employed by Southern Nuclear, he retired after 32 years of service in June of 2013. He received a degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology and a B.A. in History in 1986. He returned to BPC in 2012 and received a degree in B.B.A. Information Technology. He is happily married to Treva L. Johnson.

Corian Roberson, 2013: Corian graduated from BPC May 11, 2013 with a B.S. Education degree and is married to Befaney (2011). Corian has accepted a position teaching for Hanock County. Befaney is also working as a teacher for Washington County.
